Experience
I have 17 years of experience as a teacher, and I still love my job. During my experiences, I have taught English courses including AP English, IB theatre, and others, and I have worked with special needs students as well. I also have experience teaching test preparation for the verbal sections of the ACT and the SAT. Test preparation is fun to tutor because students light up when they see the patterns that are used in standardized tests. I enjoy tutoring because I can focus on each student individually and customize sessions to meet their needs. I believe every student has the capability of learning, and it's my responsibility to figure out what methodology works best with each student. When I have spare time, I like to kayak, read, write, and attend the theater.
