I'm driven to help students learn better. I've developed skills to identify where students need help and what their strengths are. Thinking back on my own time as a student, I can identify my own strengths at that time as well as areas where I had a gap in learning. As a tutor, my goal is to fill these gaps through my experiences as a student, provide a solid base of knowledge, and customize my approach for each individual student. Students must have a comfortable environment to learn in, and I will provide that by communicating openly and asking lots of questions while encouraging students to do the same. I want my students to feel comfortable with mistakes or not knowing something, because everyone goes through this and these are places where we can immediately make improvements. I also make concepts easier to understand by connecting them with other things that students already know and understand. My goal is to help students develop learning skills that they can use in any course to be successful in the current subject we are studying and beyond. Overall, I want students to feel good about their learning experience. In my spare time, I enjoy restaurants, theater, literature, dance, and travel.
